Larry & Milt’s Western Cafe: Discover the Heart of Yucca Valley's Comfort Food

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Exceeded my French toast expectations!" Larry & Milt's Western Cafe truly blew me away! As you might see from my other reviews, I'm a bit of a French toast snob, and it’s rare to find a spot that nails it exactly how I like: slightly overcooked, no powdered sugar. Not only did they cook it to perfection as requested, but it tasted just like a warm, home-cooked meal — something I never expected to find out here in the desert! For anyone craving a true taste of home with that perfect touch, Larry & Milt’s is the place.

1st time we’ve been here. I loved that the gentleman who served us told me exactly what to eat and even though it was not normally what I would go for, he was spot on. Also one of the best biscuits and gravy I’ve ever had with a nice surprising kick on the back end.

This was a nice little place. The staff & locals were very friendly and the food was delicious. We sat outside with three dogs and they had a water bowl available for them. There was even a roadrunner who welcomed everyone, though more likely was looking for a handout. All in all a very nice place that we would visit again.

The cutest authentic style cowboy diner. They served Farmer Brothers black tea and coffee, both were smooth and strong and delicious. With two waitresses and one busboy, they were busy but efficient, serving both inside and outside. Everyone had a great attitude though. Highly recommend this place, would absolutely come again. Look at this teapot!! Never seen one like it before.

I came here for the first time on a Sunday morning around 10am after finding it on Google. Larry & Milts has a small, homey vibe — definitely not a chain. The western decor, with cowboy photos on the walls, gives it a lot of character. I ordered eggs, hash browns, bacon, and a biscuit. Everything tasted perfect — no complaints at all. The bacon was nice and crispy, the portions were generous but not over the top, and while the presentation was simple, the food spoke for itself. Solid, no-frills breakfast done right. The staff was super friendly and personable. Even though it was busy, we were seated right away and the service was prompt. Prices were on the lower side of average — not expensive, but not ultra cheap either — and I felt the experience was exactly what I paid for. One thing to note: you can pay with card or cash, but tips are cash or Venmo only, so be prepared for that. If you’re in Yucca Valley and want a good breakfast in a cozy, western-style diner, this place is worth a stop. I’d definitely go back.

Our first time here. We have been to Yucca Valley area many times, and we had always wanted to stop, so today we did. And it was certainly worth it! Great comfort food place. Not big and can get crowded. We got there around 12:30pm and had no problem on waiting. We will be back next for sure! :-)

It was the best breakfast. The chicken fried steak was delicious. Also recommend the brisket and gravy. The service was outstanding and the price was very fair. Can't wait to go back and try the other dishes.
